Beans are nutritionally rich in protein and iron. Beans are of many varieties i.e. Rosecoco, Mwitemania, Red Haricot and many other smaller varieties.
The Board has been trading on beans for a long time especially it being one of the major staple foods in the country.
Beans are grown in almost all the regions in the country depending on the crop varieties. Board’s beans are sourced in all its networks (Depots) based on high quality parameters and is stored in hygienic conditions. Currently the Board is holding a large consignment of all varieties spread in all the regions.
The Board is currently bulk breaking beans in bags and packaging them in 50kg, 20kg, 10kg, 5kg bags and in the branded packets. This is done after thorough cleaning and polishing. The Board is endeavoring to expand the market outlets of these branded products through wholesalers, supermarkets and other retail outlets.
Packaging NAFAKA Beans are bagged in jute bags or polypropylene (pp) bags into 90kg, 50kg, 20kg, 10kg, 1kg packets
